BetMGM has signed a new deal with Sportradar to expand its partnership with the sports technology company.
As part of the expanded deal, Sportradar will supply BetMGM with its products that use official National Basketball Association (NBA) optical tracking data.
This will be used by BetMGM to support its prop markets, in-play betting and same-game parlay options.
Eduard Blonk, Sportradar Chief Commercial Officer, said, “We’re pleased our value-add products and services will unlock the potential of NBA optical tracking data for BetMGM, while supporting the return on investment of our partnership with the NBA.”
The NBA optical tracking data allows Sportradar to track 29 coordinates on the player’s body and update the statistics to reflect this.
Jarrod Schwarz, BetMGM Chief Product Officer, said: “Sportradar’s league data has enabled BetMGM to enhance our product offerings since we first partnered with them in 2018.
“We expect the upcoming NBA season to be outstanding and look forward to leveraging this data for years to come.”
The NBA 2023/24 regular season officially started on 24 October 2023 and will run until 14 April, with the finals being played sometime in June 2024.
There are 30 teams that are anticipated to play 82 games over the season, with an in-season tournament held for the first time in November.
With BetMGM launching in the UK markets too, this saw the operator also expand its partnership with Kambi Group.
Through LeoVegas Group, Kambi Group will be responsible for powering the BetMGM Sportsbook.
