10 Ten Gaming is finalising its ShweepsCasino.com ahead of launch.
The proprietary platform will perform as a social casino, where players won’t have to pay to play any of the games at the site.
Operating as a sweepstakes casino, ShweepsCasino.com will give players the chance to win cash prizes through a premium currency that cannot be directly bought through the store.
Instead, the premium currency is given away through bonuses, events, or at random.
Players will use the premium currency at the site, then anything they win with this can be used in the store to redeem prizes.
The sweepstakes model has proven to be incredibly successful in the US, where many states still have strict laws or outright bans on how online casinos can operate.
There are particular sweepstakes casinos live in even the strictest of states, as they contribute a certain amount of profits to charity, and are therefore seen as a cause for good rather than outright gambling.
Carly Sawers, 10 Ten Gaming Head of Marketing, said: “We’re excited to offer something truly unique and look forward to providing a safe and secure environment for customers in the United States to participate in all the fun that social casino has to offer.”
Of course, the US isn’t the only country to offer this kind of workaround concerning local gambling laws – Japan has operated pachinko parlours since the 1920s.
10 Ten Gaming will launch ShweepsCasino.com on all available devices, including both desktop and mobile, and plans to add a range of casino games including slots and the increasingly popular genre of arcade games.
Recently, SCCG Research also put a spotlight on sweepstakes gaming, noting that public perception on such platforms can often be influenced by media.
