Elen Barber has been appointed as the new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at operator Super Group.

Super Group is the holding company for online sports betting and gaming businesses, Betway and Spin, with Barber joining after spending more than 13 years working for fellow B2C operator Kindred Group.

Back in May of last year, it was announced that Barber, who was CMO at Kindred, as well as Anne-Jaap Snijders, the CCO of Kindred at the time, had both stepped down from their respective positions; not long after then-CEO Henrik Tjärnstrom and CFO Johan Wilsby had resigned.

During her time at Kindred, Barber undertook a number of roles with the operator, including Manager of Global Affiliates, Head of Affiliates, Head of Digital Advertising, Director of Brand Marketing and in her most recent position CMO.

In a post on her LinkedIn page, Barber wrote: “I’m excited to share some news – I’m starting a new position as Chief Marketing Officer at Super Group (SGHC)! I am thrilled to join this innovative team and looking forward to the exciting challenges ahead!”

Barber joins a month after Super Group released its fourth quarter and full-year financial results for 2023, which showed the company had achieved an all-time revenue record of €1.4bn ($1.5bn), which was also a year-on-year increase of 11%.

This week, Rush Street Interactive (RSI) also hired a new CMO, with Brian Sapp taking up the position.
