Odell Beckham Jr. is without doubt one of the most iconic players in the NFL today, from his flamboyant play on field to his style off of it, the Rams’ wide receiver is a sure bet when it comes the sensational and that’s exactly what things will come down to on Sunday, a bet.
The Rams OBJ hopes to win it for Drake
Before a ball is kicked in the Super Bowl on Sunday, Odell Beckham Jr. will know that he has a potential $1 million worth of incentives in his contract to be earned before his free agency activates in a month. That’s to say that OBJ stands to make a lot of money should things go the way of the Rams in the Super Bowl. Yet should that be the case, there is one famous Hip Hop artist who also stands to cash in and that’s Drake. A close friend of the Rams’ wide receiver, Drake bet nearly $1.26 million in Bitcoin on the Los Angeles Rams and OBJ ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals.

“Man,” Beckham said with a laugh when asked Friday about the wagers, “I’ve got to come through for him.” Incidentally, Beckham appeared in the video for Drake’s 2020 hit “Laugh Now Cry Later.”
The details of Drake’s LA Rams bet
According to pictures posted on his official Instagram account on Thursday, Drake placed three bets. The rapper made a money-line wager on the Rams to win outright to the tune of more than $471,000 – when converted from Canadian to U.S. dollars – which would see a payout of more than $711,000. The other two bets were on Beckham to top 62.5 receiving yards and score at least one touchdown, with Drake risking nearly $393,000 on each for payouts of nearly $711,000 and over $844,000.

If the Grammy award winning artist were to win all three bets, he would receive a total payout of $2.267 million for a profit of just over $1 million. Interestingly the caption for his post read, “All bets are in on the family.” When pressed on the scenario Beckham reiterated his point with a smile, “I’ve got to come through for him, but ultimately, bro, I just want to be able to hold that trophy up, look your brothers in the eyes like, ‘Man, we did it.’ And just feel that joy. …Honestly, I feel like if I play my game, I catch everything that comes my way, I make the plays, I stay locked in, one play at a time, all of those things are very possible.“
OBJ, The Numbers and A New Family Addition
To date Beckham has scored a touchdown in six of his 11 games with the Rams this season since joining them from the Cleveland Browns. OBJ has had at least 63 receiving yards in four of those games. As for his one year deal which he signed with the Rams back in November, there is $3 million worth of incentives that is directly connected to the team’s postseason success. Beckham has already racked up some $2 million of that which leaves a $1 million to go. While he is guaranteed $500,000 if the Rams lose the Super Bowl, one can imagine that the star wide receiver has no intention of entertaining that possibility whether there is money on the table or not. It should be noted, however that the payouts hinge on Beckham being a participant in at least one offensive play.
