The new DraftKings Sportsbook will provide a “19th hole experience,” where fans can attend and watch sport with some food & beverage options.

PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, DraftKings CEO Jason Robins, City of Scottsdale, Arizona Mayor David Ortega and Thunderbirds President Dr Michael Golding were all present at the ceremony.

The PGA Tour and DraftKings say they are working closely with the City of Scottsdale and the Thunderbirds – the host organisation of the WM Phoenix Open – to develop the project.

Most recently, DraftKings has been making waves in the US with its $200 free bet sign-up bonuses pre-launch, in states like Ohio and Maryland.

It was also recently reported that the operator is nearing a “large new partnership” with ESPN.

Reports suggested a potential deal between the sports betting operator and Walt Disney Co’s ESPN will allow the broadcaster to capitalise on the growing wave of legalised sports betting in North America.

However, ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro then poured cold water on those expecting any agreement.

He told reporters at a conference: “We’re not going to take people’s money; we’re not going to set lines and spreads and odds.

“But the idea of leaning in a bit more here and creating a more seamless experience is definitely on the table.”

Golf-wise, the PGA Tour has embraced partnerships with a number of brands since the overturning of PASPA in the US in May 2018.
