IMG Arena has acquired Leap Gaming, meaning Leap’s 3D technology will now become a part of IMG’s offering, which it states can help clients ‘unlock new revenue streams.’
The agreement comes after the pair initially began collaborating in 2018. Leap CEO Yariv Lissauer has now agreed to sell and has become IMG’s Senior Director & General Manager as part of the deal.
Previously, the pair had jointly launched virtual sports betting products in conjunction with NASCAR and the EuroLeague, with IMG also providing data feeds for more than 45,000 events every year – including the UFC and PGA Tour.
Freddie Longe, President of IMG Arena, said: “The addition of Leap Gaming to our sports betting content portfolio will enable us to enhance our offer to sportsbooks and lead the way in shaping the future of sports betting entertainment. We are looking forward to unlocking even more revenue streams and forms of fan engagement for our clients.”
Meanwhile, Lissauer added: “We are delighted to officially become part of IMG Arena, which has been a stakeholder in and great partner to Leap for the last four years. We are excited about the culture, product and technology synergies between our companies and teams and the new opportunities that will arise from combining them.”
The deal was initially announced in December 2022 but has been concluded now that the customary closing conditions and regulatory review process have been completed.
