Mohegan Pennsylvania has partnered with Aristocrat to create a smoke-free lounge at its Wilkes-Barre location.
The 2,000 sq. ft space, called the Aristocrat Gaming Lounge, is located near the hotel entrance and includes 55 slot machines from the Aristocrat catalogue, including Dragon Link, Whisker Wheels, Triple Supreme Extreme, Mo’ Mummy and Buffalo among others. It also features exclusive artwork, including that of Aristocrat’s slot characters.
Alongside this, the lounge utilises bespoke lighting and various LCD video panels, designed to keep guests up to date on Aristocrat’s gaming content.
The smoke-free lounge follows continued debate across the US regarding smoking policies inside casinos, with casinos often being one of the few indoor places to allow smoking in the states. In 2022 New Jersey casino workers protested indoor smoking loopholes and in April the Americans for Nonsmokers’ Rights (ANR) praised the Kansas Senate for passing a bill to ban indoor smoking. Atlantic City casino in New Jersey has also seen union workers push against new smoking laws in the state, which would still allow indoor smoking under certain circumstances. According to the union, a full ban is the “only acceptable answer.”
It has also been a busy few months for Aristocrat, having appointed a new CPO in Matthew Primmer and Company Secretary in Anne Tucker in late February and early March. It also follows its completed acquisition of NeoGames this week, which was approved by regulators earlier this month.
On the lounge, Mohegan Pennsylvania President Tony Carlucci said: “We are thrilled to launch the smoke-free Aristocrat Gaming Lounge as part of our commitment to providing exceptional and comfortable gaming experiences.”
