The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has released its financial report for January, which shows total gaming revenue grew 25% year-on-year to $229.6m.
Of this revenue, $177.3m was generated from casino win – a 9% increase – and internet gaming win grew a substantial 53% to $33.6m.
Sports wagering revenue was $18.8m, which is 10% less than New Jersey’s sports betting revenue in December 2018.
However, sports betting handle was a sizeable $385.2m (the highest monthly p to date), with $80.3m wagered on-site and $305m bet online.
American football accounted for $7.6m in revenue for completed events and $82m in handle.
Interestingly, though, the handle for basketball was significantly higher ($135.6m) but revenue was just $1.7m.
