Each week, I compile power rankings from a bevy of respected sources across the WNBA handicapping community. Power rankings are designed to identify how many points a team would be favored by against an average team on a neutral field. By calculating the difference in ratings between the two teams (and adjusting for home-field advantage), you can get a ratings-implied spread to compare to the actual spread. Additionally, I’ve provided some comments on WNBA trends and numbers that stood out to me. Here are my latest WNBA power rankings, including the current WNBA power rankings and changes in WNBA power rankings over the last week.

WNBA Power Rankings: Numbers & Trends
- We’re now just over halfway through the WNBA season and teams will now get nearly a month off for the All-Star and Olympic break. This will be a welcome reset for several teams, especially those that have suffered injuries. While the Dallas Wings’ season is lost at this point, they should get both Maddy Siegrist and Satou Sabally back in August. Jordin Canada, who has only played four games this season, broke her finger just a couple weeks ago. Though she may not return for the Atlanta Dream right away, she’ll surely be closer to getting back into the lineup. The New York Liberty, one of the title favorites, could also get starter Betnijah Laney-Hamilton back in the lineup after recently undergoing knee surgery. Finally, Napheesa Collier, who hasn’t played since July 4th, is expected to be ready for the Olympics and subsequently returning to the Minnesota Lynx as they push for a title after the break.
